When the painter came to pick up the final payment this morning, he said to me, "Your house looks fantastic! I really had reservations about the color you picked, but I'm so happy with the way it looks." This is, sadly, not the first time I've had a house painter say something like this to me or my family members. (The last time was interior painters who doubted the totally outrageous color scheme I chose for my bedroom, but told my father that, while unorthodox, it came out really great.) The current painter has also said that he's received two calls asking for quotes, all because they saw our house completed. I shouldn't be, but I am totally smug about this.
Why must house painters always doubt me?
Before: Taken the day before they replaced the windows. However, this picture does not document any of the window work, since the windows replaced were all on the left side of the house. It does show the house color though.
Primer is almost complete. You can still note the slightest hint of green right between the garage door and the front railing. The photo is a bit dark, however, because the day was overcast plus the photo was taken moments before sunset.
First set of shutters has gone up. Note the new windows, too.
At this point, it's basically done, but a few touch-ups need to be done on the house overall. Plus the front door still has to be painted.
